Leah has been designing sustainable clothing for over 20 years.
I (Leah Cahill) was a designer and production manager for Blue Fish Clothing for over twenty years. We were a sustainable clothing company early on. Blue Fish closed its doors (the owner, Jennifer Barclay, retired), and I was ready for a new adventure that kept my creative spirit and love for clothing and had a positive impact on our planet.
I believe clothing should make you feel happy. I have been thrifting and collecting vintage as long as I can remember, and it's one of my favorite things to do, along with making clothing. The idea of Crooked Stitch was born in a "dream" moment with friends and family.
I have been thrifting styles I loved and imagined combining them to create new styles. This would mean no fabric needed to be made, and I could use as many of these pieces as possible to develop close to zero waste. In my journeys through thrift stores, I also came across vintage styles I loved and began collecting them.
The adventure begins as I bring you Crooked Stitch Clothing, vintage and reimagined styles!
Welcome to Crooked Stitch Vintage! The world wants ever-changing style fast; the world doesn't need new clothes from scratch... We take the old and reimagine them into new styles or bring the old ones back for a bit of nostalgia!
